Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
Title: Six of Crows
Author: Leigh Bardugo
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy
Publisher: Henry Holt and Company
Publication Date: September 29th, 2015
From Goodreads:
Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone…
A convict with a thirst for revenge.
A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager.
A runaway with a privileged past.
A spy known as the Wraith.
A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums.
A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.
Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.
Why I am waiting:
I loved The Grisha Trilogy and was very disappointed to find that the author had not published any other novels. Then I heard about Six of Crows. I marked it “to read” on Goodreads and tried not to salivate all over my keyboard. Seriously, the cover is gorgeous, the advance reviews are excellent, and it’s written by Leigh Bardugo? Why wouldn’t I wait? I’m not chomping at the bit like I was with Queen of Shadows, but I might be by the 29th.
I apologize for the recent lack of activity. I have been sick. A new review will be up soon. I promise!
Now, what are you waiting on?
I had no idea that she was coming out with a new book. Will be adding this to my list!!

Yes! I’m hoping to get this one in audio to review, since I prefer listening to YA. Looking forward to seeing what Bardugo has in store for us next.

I never can do audio. My ADD just won’t allow it. I get distracted and miss what is going on. But I hope it is read by someone good.

I haven’t read this author yet, but really want to. So hoping that I can start this series fresh and move on and see if I like it enough to read her other series. Great pick!

This is a popular one. It certainly has a cool cover and that blurb is intriguing. At least you don’t have to wait long to read it 🙂

The Grisha Trilogy was great! I don’t know how I managed to not read it until it was all out. I will not be doing that with Six of Crows. 😀

I’m starting on it this weekend… so excited! I’ve been holding off on reading it, because I didn’t want to get through it and then have to hold my thoughts to myself for so long. Leigh Bardugo is an amazing author, and the Grisha Trilogy was excellent, so I’m positive this is going to be a fantastic read.
